Cardiff Castle

The new Cardiff City Stadium is the home of Cardiff City Football Club and Cardiff Blues Rugby Club for the 09/10 season onwards. It was officially opened on 22nd July 2009.The imposing £56m stadium seats 27,000 fans.

Millennium Stadium
The Millennium Stadium is Cardiff's most famous landmark by some distance. During its relatively short 11-year existence it has achieved iconic status and is recognisable to most sports fans around the world.
The magnificent 74,500 seat, sliding-roof stadium was completed in 1999 at a total cost of £126 million. It was built to provide a new home for Welsh rugby and football internationals, and of course to host the Rugby World Cup 1999.

Wales Millennium Centre
Opened by the Queen in late November 2004, the Wales Millennium Centre has provided a spectacular new home to performing arts in Wales. The building - though not strictly known as an opera house - is home to the Welsh National Opera and 6 other arts organisations.

St Fagans National History Museum
Formerly known as the Welsh Folk Museum, this is Wales' most popular heritage attraction and Europe's leading open-air museum.
Situated in the grounds of St Fagans Castle, the museum is home to over 40 re-erected buildings from different historical periods including houses, a school, a chapel, a Workmen's Institute, a post office, a bakery and a grocery store. The museum is also home to various workshops where you can find traditional craftsmen at work.

Castell Coch
Castell Coch is set high in a wooded hillside above the village of Tongwynlais, just on the outskirts of Cardiff. Its picturesque location and stunning architecture mean that it is often used as a film location. More recently the castle has also been open for civil wedding ceremonies.

Cardiff Motorpoint Arena (Cardiff International Arena, CIA)
The Cardiff Motorpoint Arena, formerly known as the Cardiff International Arena or CIA, is Cardiff's largest purpose-built exhibition facility. The main arena offers 4,000 sq. metres of space that can be used to host exhibitions, conferences, concerts, cultural and sporting events.

SWALEC Stadium
The new SWALEC Stadium is home to Glamorgan County Cricket Club. Following a massive redevelopment of the ground, it was officially reopened on 9th May 2008, with an increased capacity of 16,000.

The Senedd (The Welsh Assembly)
The Senedd is the main public building of the National Assembly for Wales and is located in Cardiff Bay. It was designed by Lord Richard Rogers and was opened by The Queen on St David's Day in 2006.
